The Agave genus, widely known for its astonishing diversity and cultural importance, is a group of succulent plants that plays a fundamental role in the landscapes and history of several regions of the American continent. From the arid deserts of North America to the highlands of Central and South America, Agave species have captivated the attention of botanists, horticulturists, and indigenous cultures for centuries. These plants have demonstrated an incredible capacity to adapt to a wide range of environments, in addition to providing valuable resources for food, the production of alcoholic beverages and the production of fibers.
